Reasons For This Site

I want to lose weight in a healthy manner and develop good eating and exercising habits.

By having this site, I can be more aware of my progress and see what behaviours I need to adopt or abolish. This is intensely personal, yes. So, why have it online?

I've been inspired and motivated by many others who share their struggles with weight online. Perhaps I, too, can be that for others. If not, at least I have a place to hold myself accountable for my weight and talk things out.

Too many of my friends and relatives  are either starving themselves (a few only eat one, tiny meal a day), taking strange pills (appetite suppressants and all that rot) or recommending terrible, one-food diets. Unfortunately, some are trying to pressure me into their craziness or they talk constantly about these matters around me and try to get me to join in the conversation.

I seem to be the happy-with-herself, jolly lass. This is fine. I want to lose weight without drawing too much attention or being the subject of too much unwarranted advice. I *do* like good advice and healthy recommendations, but that's difficult to get these days.

And so, this Web site exists.
